Aloha! we are a new research group at the Department of Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Our aim is to develop fundamental and applied research to better understand and improve the physical properties of soils that regulate critical environmental and functional processes, such as soil biophysical and hydrological properties, soil carbon storage, and nutrient management. We are motivated by the need to support the growing global population while maintaining healthy ecosystem services.
Our research spans diverse landscapes and management conditions, with a particular interest in the fundamental biophysical aspects of soil transport behavior from the pore to field scale. By studying these processes, we aim to inform and develop sustainable soil management strategies to address current environmental challenges (see Research).
Currently, like our group website, our lab is under construction. But we are actively seeking passionate new Graduate/Undergraduate students, and Postdocs to join our team. Stay tuned for upcoming opportunities to join us!
